Welcome to the site for West Blatchington Infant School. We hope you find the information on our pages useful and informative.
West Blatchington Infant School provides education for children 3-7 years old. We have approximately 190 children on roll (including 50 part time places in the Nursery).
We are extremely fortunate in the situation of the school, being open to the South Downs to the north, an area of outstanding natural beauty. We share extensive playing fields with the adjacent Junior School, which is used for athletics and games. We have a partly sheltered, large, hardsurfaced play and games area to the rear of the school and grassed areas at the front and sides with flowerbeds and shrubs.
There are eight classrooms (two-form entry) including a Nursery class, and a facility for autistic children. The school was the first mainstream school in East Sussex to open a facility for autistic children.
The internal accomodation is of a high decorative order, and with high quality resoures we provide an excellent environment for learning.
Full details of the school, its governing body, admission arrangements, the curriculum and Standard Assessment Task results can be found in our prospectus. This is available on request from the school or may be downloaded here. [PDF 569K approx 90s at 56K].
